Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2014

Victoria’s Secret. The world’s leading underwear brand had their fashion show in London, the first time it’s been held outside of the US. We saw models Alessandra Abrosio and Adriana Lima tasked with displaying the dazzling $2million Dream Angel Fantasy Bras. Both designs were made by Mouawad Jewellers using 16,000 rubies, sapphires and diamonds, all sewn together with 18-carat gold threading – both of the designs took more than 1,380 hours to make. The runway itself was scented by VS fragrance ‘Heavenly’ – the bottle of this fragrance has its very own wings made of 126 Swarovski crystals.

The likes of Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Ariana Grande performed in this year’s show. Taylor debuted in her own take on the Victoria’s Secret lingerie, looking absolutely stunning whilst singing some of her new songs from the chart topping album “1985”. Ariana Grande was almost bashed off of the stage when her head just missed being hit by one of the models wings - it didn’t phase her though. Ed Sheeran had to stay focused whilst the beautiful models cat walked past him as he entranced us all with his voice and guitar.

The models taking part were attended to by no fewer than 25 makeup artists and hair stylists as well as nine manicurists. The transformation to a Victoria’s Secret Angel is not as straight forward as it might seem; call time was at 8am, with the first show taking place at 4pm: that’s 8 hours of hair and makeup preparation!

Once again I was amazing with all the different designs in this years show. “The show itself was split into six sections: Gilded Angels, Exotic Traveler, Dream Girl, University of Pink, Fairy Tale and the finale Angel Ball. Opened by Behati Prinsloo in head to toe gold who was swiftly followed by Karlie Kloss wearing a pair of 18karat gold wings, the most expensive piece ever made by haute couture designer Serkan for the brand.”

For the grand finale all of the 47 models in the show and four performers took to the stage where massive black and white balloons fell on the audience and down onto the catwalk.
