What to Wear to the Airport

Deciding what to wear on the aeroplane for both short-haul and long-haul flights can prove difficult. You don't want to come across as being too under or over-dressed. I've been lucky enough to travel to quite a few places, some countries only a couple of hours away and some 8+ hours - it's key to get that balance between socially acceptable wear (e.g. not pyjamas!) and not being so dressed up that you become uncomfortable.

1. Outwear

Its always a good idea to take a jacket with you on the plane even if you're going to a hot country. This is because all those thousands of miles up in the air, and some air conditioning can sometimes make you feel a bit chilly. A jacket can also double up as a blanket or a pillow.

2. Tops

I always try to stick to something a little bit more exciting on top as I usually keep it super casual on the bottom. But in all fairness, a vest top is perfectly fine. A short sleeved summery blouse is ideal alongside a graphic tee or plain t-shirt. To make it more interesting take you t-shirt and tie a knot at the bottom, it makes your outfit look overall more put together but you can still remain comfortable.

3. Bottoms

Topshop Joni jeans are ideal for wearing to the airport. They have the look of a jean but the comfort of a legging. They enable you to curl up on the plane due to the super stretchy material. Alternatives include, skirts or your favourite pair of shorts.

4. All-in-Ones

Dresses or play suits/jumpsuits can be ideal for wearing on a flight. They're roomy, airy and can be so easy to style. They also are pretty cheap too! You can find them almost anywhere and they don't take that much thought - making them ideal for wearing on either a short or long flight.

5. Shoes

The shoes you wear to the airport MUST be comfortable. Whether it be your favourite pair of trainers or some flip flops, foot comfort is a must, There's nothing worse tha
n walking to gate 102 and getting blisters on your feet before your holidays even begun.

6. Accessories

This is where you can jazz it up a bit. Add some cool sunglasses or tie a silk scarf around you bag handles. Wear your favourite lipstick and do your nails a cool summery colour. Accessories enable you to add something extra to your outfit but still remain comfortable and practical!
