PFW: Balmain Spring/Summer 2016 Ready-To-Wear

Balmain SS16 Ready-To-Wear was unleashed at Paris Fashion Week and it didn't dampen any expectations. Texture and colour were the key features which stuck out to me for this collection. Suede, crochet, netting and chiffon, all of which were present throughout the show, and added depth and another dimension of interest to the pieces. It was interesting to see how some of the popular 70's colours (mustard, green, yellow and tan) were translated into next year's SS16. They are great transitional shades which seem to be taking over as the new "neutrals" as they can literally be worn with anything!
Although, there were some traditional neutrals throughout Balmain's collection. Nearer the end we see blacks, whites, creams and browns coming through - a great contrast to the brighter colours at the beginning.
The silhouettes are form fitting with cut-outs and panelling. The embellishments are to die for - crystals were definitely a popular choice. The ideas for this collections are stand out, and have proven to make their mark at PFW.
In addition to this amazing collection Rousteing has been busy collaborating with H&M for the BALMAIN X H&M collection to be realised this November. Well, if the pieces are anything like this collection, I better get saving...
